Enjoy a delicious paddock-to-plate lunch
One of Australia's leading and most widely distributed biodynamic-organic dairy companies, B.-d. Farm Paris Creek will hold a delicious paddock to plate lunch on Saturday 22 April, followed by a talk and Q&A session with Helmy Abouleish who is the son of the founder of Sekem, world's most successful movement about sustainable development and giving back to communities.
Importantly, the Sekem Initiative supports the shift from conventional farming methods to Biodynamic-Organic agriculture. Biodynamic-organic products are healthier for consumers, better for the land, flora and fauna and our waterways and support an animal friendly management. The Sekem Initiative shows, how a desert can open up and come alive, supporting thousands of families. It is an inspirational masterpiece.
The Sekem Initiative in Egypt is unique and one of its kind. It has been the world's model and benchmark for sustainable development.
Helmy Abouleish, will share his community's experience and the secrets to their success. Thousands of people are involved with Sekem today, which includes biodynamic farms, trading companies for produce and processed foods, a medical centre, various ethical working organisations, textile production and education ranging from Kindergarten to university. Founded in 1977 by Ibrahim Abouleish, he had a vision to turn vast desert land in Egypt into fertile, healthy soil by involving community innovation and applying the biodynamic farming method. Sekem's successful community hub's sustainable products are exported throughout the world.
