Best in Show 2025: Australian Photographic Dog Prize is a joyful exhibition and moving tribute to the loyalty and beauty of dogs.

Enjoy viewing the incredible photographs taken by pet owners, pet photographers and canine exhibitors.

Sharing a love of photography, the finalist statements bring to life the joy, fun and tremendous memories made between people and their dogs.

Photographs are exhibited in four distinct categories - dog portraits, dogs and companions, dogs in action, and puppies.

Best in Show 2025: Australian Photographic Dog Prize offers a first prize of $5000. The Young photographer category offers a first prize of $500 and the People's Choice Award $500.

Visit the exhibition and cast your vote for People's Choice Award. The winner will be announced on 17 October 2025. Co-judges for Best in Show 2025 are Robert Reason, Director of David Roche Gallery and Alex Cearns OAM. Alex is an internationally renowned animal photographer and respected judge based in Perth.

Established to recognise David Roche's life in the canine world and Australia's obsession with dogs, this inaugural prize offers a heartwarming view of our favourite pets and show dogs. Congratulations to all the finalists, and don't miss the fully illustrated 'dogalogue' available during the exhibition.
