Australia enjoys public holiday's and long weekends throughout the year.

Some public holidays are state-based meaning they are only enjoyed in the one state like #WA Day in Western Australia Day, Grand Final Friday in Victoria and Reconciliation Day in Canberra.

Some states have public holidays for the same event but on different dates like May Day (Labour Day).

Many other dates are celebrated but are not official public holidays gazetted with a day off like St Patricks Day and Bastille Day.
