The German Club

The German Club

For over 125 years SAGA, the South Australian German Association (or German Club) promotes and fosters German culture, language, habits and social life in Australia.

Germans and their descendents have always been an important part of South Australias heritage, comprising ten percent of the population since the very earliest days of white settlement.

The South Australian German Association (German Club) was established in 1886. Our aim is to promote, encourage and foster German language, culture, habits and social life in Australia.

The club is open to everyone. You are encouraged to come and join us and enjoy the friendly German atmosphere, the Gemutlichkeit, which has been for so long in South Australian tradition.

The Clubhouse of SAGA is used as a location for functions for our members and guests, meetings and rehearsals by member groups and to host community events such as the Schnitzelabend (Schnitzel nights), Sunday brunches/ Fruhschoppen, the Adelaide German Christmas Market (Weihnachtsmark) or Fruhlingsfest (Spring Fest).
